This was supposed to be the June issue of the Casual Cartographer, but I just changed it to the June/July issue. The next issue will be the September issue. It is quite a lot of work creating the newsletter each month, and as summer is in full gear, its tougher and tougher to get them done on a monthly basis.

This month’s freebie represents the beginning of our education in the raster world. The GeoTiff Examiner can be used to georeference a Tiff file if you have a world file, or create a world file from a georeferenced Tiff file. We believe that this will be quite usful to many of our subscribers. I must caution our subscribers, however. This is the beginning of our education into these matters, and there may very well be a glitch or two in the program. Please let me know if you find such. If there are any major glitches, we’ll post an update on the web as soon as we get them fixed.

I’m leaving now to brush up on my golf game. It really needs a street sweeper.
